A new spot we produced produced for Nike Better World with Wieden+Kennedy just went live. "The Making of Making" premiered today, kicking off a new era of innovation and sustainability in product design and manufacturing. In an effort to make its commitment to the environment more transparent, Nike has launched a universal Materials Sustainability Index, a tool to help their designers understand the impact of their work by enabling them to select environmentally better materials. Some companies would work hard to keep this information secret. Nike created an alpha API and hosted a Hack Day to make the NMSI easily accessible to the public. Read more about it at nikemakers.tumblr.com.

We had the incredible opportunity to shoot with a dozen makers in the Portland area to produce this manifesto for a better world.

Last week, our film, Richie's Story, premiered in front of 900 high-profile guests at the Tipping Point Community Benefit Dinner at Pier 48. Within minutes of the last frame, a record $8M had been raised to support 34 non-profits who fight homelessness and provide health, education, and job training services in the Bay. Read more about it in the San Francisco Chronicle and be inspired by the story of Richard Rivas, a 19-year-old from Stockton, who with the help of an organization called New Door Ventures is succeeding against all odds.

“The good news and the bad news is that it’s a very special place.”

When San Francisco Agency Eleven Inc came to us about a new campaign for Sun Valley, Idaho, we knew immediately it would be a dream job. The resort town built in 1936 by the Union Pacific Railroad and made famous by long list of celebrity visitors like Marilyn Monroe and Arnold Schwarzenegger was losing ground to ski towns like Jackson Hole and Boulder where young people have been flocking to in recent years. They needed a way to stay relevant without losing their roots.

In response, Eleven Inc built a campaign around the concept of "The Original Mountain Town" and asked us to produce a series of documentary-style portraits of real people that represent the spirit of the place. The New York Times calls it an appeal to authenticity... we call it honest storytelling. See for yourselves.
