We Are Trees
It wasn't too long ago that my brother Chase called me up to check out We Are Trees from Virginia Beach. Fresh out of high school, front man James Nee developed the parts for his EP, Boyfriend, alone in his bedroom. When he finally got a chance to spend some time in his friends home studio the result was, well... staggering. We got a chance to spend some time with them at CMJ and shoot a takeaway version of "Sunrise Sunset" on a Brooklyn rooftop. The piece premiered today on Yours Truly. Special thanks to our friend Dana Shaw for putting together the edit.
